Here is Xu Yun's self-report:

【1】 Resigning at the age of 19 and starting a journey of poverty

My name is Xu Yun (pseudonym), 26 years old, from Changchun, Jilin Province. In March 2016, I resigned from the sales position of KTV and wanted to go out and have a look.

At that time, I worked at KTV from 5 p.m. to 1 and 2 a.m. every day and was responsible for toasting and selling wine to guests.

Although I am allergic to alcohol, I still have to drink and flatter my guests. Almost every day, guests drink too much and make trouble in the store. I don't like the atmosphere. The monthly salary is four or five thousand yuan, which will be higher in the peak season. It is OK in the local area.

"The world is so big, I want to go and see it." This is my first resignation letter. The leader's response is, "Do you have money? Stop it." I wrote another resignation letter. The content is roughly: "I want to go where I want to go and do what I want to do while I'm young, and I don't want to regret when I'm old." When I saw the second letter, the leader approved it.

When my family learned of my plan to resign and travel, they urged me to give up. They even called the emotional counseling column to ask the host to persuade me.

But in the end, I set out and started a poor journey with only 375 yuan except the ticket.

The first stop was Shenyang. When I came to Shenyang Peace Zone, I felt fresh and scared. I didn't know where to go when I was on the street. In order to survive, I found a job locally and worked as a waitress in a hot spring hotel. Waiters work for 12 hours, rest for 24 hours, and go out to play during the rest. Work is relatively easy, and accommodation is also included.

When I have a rest, I will go to urban parks, mountains and old alleys to stroll, and feel very comfortable. After working for a month and a half, the boss was unwilling to pay the 15-day salary of the mortgage. I felt very angry. I exposed this matter on the social platform and contacted the relevant departments. The next day, I received a phone call from the manager and asked, "Did you send the content online? Delete it quickly!" I was nervous and afraid of being retaliated. Later, the manager talked to me again. Before entering the office, I felt uneasy and sent a location message to my friend, saying, "If I don't report you safe within half an hour, you will call the police."

Fortunately, it was a false alarm. The manager asked me to clarify with the relevant departments. After that, he settled my salary.

In this way, I finished my first trip, and felt uneasy and proud. Relying on working to save enough for the next trip, I set out again and visited Jinzhou, Qinhuangdao, Shanhaiguan, Tianjin, Dali in the same way

I like Dali in particular. In my opinion, Dali is a very inclusive city. After 11 o'clock at night, people of all kinds appeared in the ancient city of Dali. Wandering singers, poets, backpackers, painters and writers set up stalls on the street, doing their own things. The whole ancient city was like a utopia.

In the ancient city of Dali, I also set up a stall to sell stories to the tourists, and the price follows the fate. In the middle of Renmin Road in the ancient city, my friends and I sat on the ground and formed a booth in a circle. In the middle of the booth was a Bluetooth speaker, playing the songs of Park Shu and the band. The booth is full of postcards, which I took on the road. There is an experience behind each postcard. If I like this postcard, I will tell the story behind the photo after the price is determined. Tourists can also exchange postcards with stories. If I have no money and like a postcard very much, I will give it free.

Many people came to the booth to chat. What impressed me was a girl who told the love story of Meili Snow Mountain. After sharing the story, the girl didn't take the postcard with her. She said she wanted to leave the beauty of the story in Dali and the postcard. Another time, I met my favorite folk singer. I like his songs very much. Sitting on the floor with our favorite singer, we drank and played games, which was wonderful.

There are many more impressive things. When I was hiking along the Yunnan-Tibet line, every day, people who drove or rode by themselves gave me thumbs up and shouted "Come on!" Some people would stop to ask me if I needed a ride, and they would also force me food and water.

Once, when I was hiking, I encountered a rainstorm and had nowhere to hide from the rain. A Tibetan youth pulled up beside me in a car. He didn't say anything after getting off the car. He directly carried my bag to the car. He told me in fluent Mandarin that he would take me to a place where I could take shelter from the rain.

Of course, travel is not only about happiness, but also about troubles of different sizes.

During the hiking trip to Daliang Mountain, my companion and I were walking on a narrow road. Some sections of the road allowed only one big car to pass. When we were going up the slope, the companion shouted "There is a car! There is a car!" Before I could react, a big bus braked in front of me. I was frightened. That was the closest time I had to die. Since then, I have stopped walking on the highway to avoid the danger of blind spots.

There are many such examples. For example, when camping, the sudden rainstorm flooded the tent; Walking in Moto, I was bitten by leeches and bled continuously.

In the third year of my trip, I posted my experience on the social platform. There were both followers and encouragement. Many netizens have the idea of going far, but they can't do it because of various reasons, so they put the spirit on me. When I released the photos and stories during the trip, I came up with the matter of "You can't go far away, I will help you bring the story back". For example, some people want to climb the mountains to see the stars, others want to go to the Erhai Lake, and I will help complete it.

So far, I have been traveling for 6 years. He practiced photography in Moto and won the photography award from the local Bureau of Culture and Tourism; I studied paddle in Sanya and worked as a paddle coach for a period of time; Long-term hiking has significantly improved mountaineering ability.

After all this, I think the biggest change is my attitude and the attitude of my family towards me. Although my family has not been very supportive of me, they think that I have experienced so much, not only survived, but also have rich experience. In the past, my parents said I can't do this or that. Gradually, they will respect me more.

I have completed more than half of my goal of traveling all over China. I plan to travel to Anhui, Jiangxi, Guangdong and Xinjiang next year. Some people can travel all over China in one or two years. In fact, I walk slowly. My parents hope that I can have a stable job after I finish my goal. At present, I still intend to continue to travel, love life and live in the present.

After all, there is more than one way of life.
